Sharp and slightly bitter, green mandarin is the only note doing any work at the top of Chrome Cologne from Azzaro. Lavender takes the core solo, cool and aromatic, a natural bridge between the citrus above and the pine below. Pine closes the foundation crisp and resinous, unmistakably outdoorsy. The lavender to pine transition through the middle is seamless, both notes sharing enough character that the shift barely registers. Chrome Cologne is a citrus aromatic Eau de Parfum, suited to daytime wear and active plans. Azzaro built something clean and uncomplicated, and it still reads that way today.
