Patek Maison built several releases in its catalog around one shared resinous foundation, and this composition leans on it once again with a slightly different top. Tangerine, lemon and pink pepper introduce the composition with a bright, faintly spiced citrus freshness rather than a purely sweet opener. Damask rose, jasmine and fig carry the middle, floral and fruity at once, pulling the fragrance toward gentler ground before the resinous close takes hold. Agarwood, saffron, sandalwood and white musk finish things out rich and warm, landing Prisme Vert in oriental woody territory despite its bright citrus start. Evening plans and cooler weather suit this fragrance best, since the saffron and agarwood need a little chill in the air to really show off. Dinners and later gatherings work well too, and Prisme Vert Cologne holds its own within a crowded field of similarly structured releases. Fall and winter favor the resinous close most, though the citrus top keeps a touch of brightness into early spring. What keeps this from feeling repetitive within Patek Maison's lineup is that fig-and-rose middle, doing more to individualize it than the shared base alone would suggest.
